Individuals seeking to obtain a Florida Concealed Weapon License may make an electronic original application or renew their Concealed Weapon License at the following Tax Collector’s Office locations:

This Concealed Weapon License Application service allows an applicant to complete the entire application within Polk County.
Those seeking to complete a Concealed Weapon License Application are required to bring the following applicable items at the time of their appointment:
- A picture ID (driver license or state-issued ID is acceptable).
- Certificate of completion proving firearms competency (click here for acceptable documentation).
- Payment in the amount of $119.00 via cash, check or credit card (an additional 2.5% convenience fee is charged for credit/debit card payments).
- If you have ever been arrested, bring copies of the court documentation reflecting the final disposition of charges.
- If you were born outside the United States, or if you are a permanent legal resident alien, bring official documentation that confirms your citizenship status.
Note: Once the original application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Following the review and upon approval, the Concealed Weapon License will be directly mailed by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to the customer.

This Concealed Weapon License Renewal service allows individuals to timely renew and receive their license within Polk County at completion of their transaction.
Those seeking to complete a Concealed Weapon License Renewal are required to bring the following applicable items at the time of their appointment:
- A picture ID (driver license or state-issued ID is acceptable).
- The Concealed Weapon or Firearm License Number.
- Payment in the amount of $57.00 (Florida Residents) or $99.00 (Non-Residents) (an additional 2.5% convenience fee is charged for credit/debit card payments).
- If you’ve been arrested since the last issuance of your concealed weapon license, you will need to bring copies of the court documentation reflecting the final disposition of charges.
Note: Customers who are retired law enforcement officers have the right, guaranteed under federal law, to carry a concealed firearm in any jurisdiction in the United States as stated in the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (often referred to as HR 218). After reviewing the requirements within the bulletin, it will be your responsibility to determine if you qualify.
What to Expect
After making an appointment and upon your arrival in the Lake Wales or Lakeland Service Centers, you will be greeted at the reception desk and directed to a station.
When seeking an original Concealed Weapon License, you will fill out an online application form, have your fingerprints electronically scanned, and be photographed for a license image. The online application will be reviewed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing. If approved, the Concealed Weapon License will be sent to the mailing address provided on your application. Otherwise, the Department will provide notification to applicants regarding their status in seeking a Concealed Weapon License.
When seeking a Concealed Weapon License renewal, you will photographed in order to obtain an updated renewal license immediately following your payment.
