Polk County Tax Collector’s Office Will Close an Extra Day to Honor Independence Day 2024

BARTOW, Fla. — The Office of the Tax Collector for Polk County (TCPC) will be closed on Thursday and Friday, July 4 and 5, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. TCPC’s regular office hours will resume Monday, July 8.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has given the additional day, Friday, as a holiday as part of his “Freedom Summer.” Polk County citizens who need to renew their vehicle registrations can still do so by using the KIOSK services available at the Grove Park and Plantation Square Publix locations in Lakeland; for more information on services, visit www.PolkTaxes.com.

Please note, the American Legion Tag Agency in Winter Haven will also be closed during this time. First Lakeland Tag Agency is closed July 4, but will reopen July 5.
