The Polk County Tax Collector’s Office will be closed in observance of Veterans Day on Friday, November 11, 2022. Our office will resume regular business hours on Monday, November 14, 2022.
The Tax Collector’s Office is proud to observe Veterans Day and celebrate the service of all U.S. military veterans. The Tax Collector’s Office facilitates many types of transactions that benefit veterans. Some veteran services include:
- Veterans who reside in Florida can add a veteran designation or “V” on their driver license or ID card.
- Veterans who meet certain criteria are eligible for military/military support/specialty license plates.
- Veterans with a 100% service-connected disability are eligible for discounts and/or exemptions.
- Veterans who qualify are eligible for exemptions in property tax, hunting & fishing licenses, and county local business tax.

Polk County residents in need of renewing their vehicle registration can still do so using the KIOSK service available at the Grove Park Publix location in Lakeland.
Customers are reminded that appointments are required for all driver license, I.D. card, road test, written test, and concealed weapon services conducted in our service centers.
