KIDS TAG ART ANNOUNCES 2013 AWARDS OF DISTINCTION

Student Art Now On Sale To Public

BARTOW, Florida/ PR Free/ November 15, 2013

Kids Tag Art, a countywide art design contest and fundraising project exclusively for fifth graders, announces the 2013-2014 award-winning designs which are now on sale to the public. "This year's 5th graders have created terrific works of art and everyone in Polk County can show their pride by ordering a Kids Tag," stated Tax Collector Joe Tedder.

Now into its eighth year, this year's art collection encompasses student creative designs from approximately 80 public, private, and charter schools throughout Polk. Up to two designs from each school are judged and selected as "Awards of Distinction" recipients. These young artists' tag art is now being offered for sale online, at www.PolkTaxes.com. Orders placed by December 3 will be delivered in time for the holidays.

Once again this year, Southern Homes of Polk County is the major underwriter for this project. To date, the project has raised over $150,000 for Polk County schools, all of which goes for supplementary classroom art supplies. Fashioned after Polk County's program, Kids Tag Art is now a curriculum-based school art project in over eight Florida counties, with more counties joining every year.

"Creative thought is required in today's complex world to solve modern problems. Southern Homes is very excited to be able to help our local children in their learning of the creative problem solving process with programs such as Kids Tag Art. The future looks very bright as this rising generation grows into tomorrow's leaders," states Greg Masters, President of Southern Homes.

In addition to major sponsor Southern Homes of Polk County, other sponsors include Douglass Screen Printers, Grasslands & Oakbridge, MIDFlorida, Paint Along Studios, LEGOLAND FL, Vecchio, Feldman & Carrier, P.A., Alphagraphics, Florida Heart Research Institute, Polk Education Foundation and community partners Polk Museum of Art, Lake Wales Art Center, Polk Arts Alliance, Polk County Schools, and the Polk County Tax Collector's Office, who hosts this program in Polk County.
