Delinquent Properties In Jeopardy

01/23/13 - BARTOW

Beginning April 1, 2013, tax certificate holders who hold a tax lien on delinquent 2010 real estate taxes may initiate the Tax Deed Application process. This process will result in the properties being sold at public auction. To prevent this course of action, owners may make payment on delinquent 2010 real estate taxes now.

Payment must be received no later than March 31, 2013 to avoid the possible filing of a Tax Deed Application.

NOTE: Properties having delinquent taxes prior to 2010 may already be in jeopardy, and payment must be made immediately to avoid the Tax Deed Application process.

Payment may be made by cash, cashier's check, e-check, money order or credit card (no personal checks; there is a 2.5% convenience fee if paying by credit card and $1.50 fee if paid by e-check).

For further information or assistance, please contact the real estate tax department by calling (863) 534-4700.
