NOVEMBER 30TH IS DEADLINE TO RECEIVE 4% TAX DISCOUNT

2012 Property Taxes Are Now Due

BARTOW, Florida/ PR Free/ November 26, 2012

The Tax Collector's Office reminds property owners that Friday, November 30 is the last day to take advantage of the maximum 4% discount awarded to taxpayers who chose to make payment within the first month that property taxes are due. To earn this discount, payments must be postmarked or conducted online on or before November 30. Taxpayers may also pay in person by Friday at one of the Tax Collector's Branch Office locations.

Payments postmarked after the November 30 deadline will not qualify for the 4% rate. Discount rates decrease one percentage point each month until March, at which time the full tax amount is due. Property tax bills become delinquent after March 31.

Property owners who do not mail-in their payments may choose to pay online at www.PolkTaxes.com or visit one of the following Tax Collector Service Center locations:

BARTOW Service Center - 430 E. Main Street, Bartow

LAKELAND Service Center- Polk County Government Center, 930 E. Parker Street, Lakeland

HAINES CITY Service Center - 74 Maxcy Plaza Circle, Haines City

LAKE WALES Service Center - Lake Wales Plaza, 658 State Road 60 West, Lake Wales

Finally, property tax payments may be placed in drop boxes located inside any of the Tax Collector offices listed above. Service Center office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday except Wednesday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (excluding weekends and holidays). Property tax payments may also be placed in a drop box located inside the Winter Haven Tag Agency, located at 300 Avenue M, N.W., between 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (excluding weekends and holidays).
