TAX COLLECTOR GOES "ON THE ROAD" FOR INSTALLMENT EDUCATION

Education Campaign Instructs Property Owners On Payment Options

BARTOW, Florida/ PR Free/ February 23 2011

Community centers across Polk County had a surprise when Tax Collector Joe Tedder arrived as their guest speaker with an unexpected message that resonated with audiences. Instead of hearing about how much they owe, Tedder showed up to inform taxpayers on how to make their tax payment burden a little easier with alternative payment options for property tax payments.

"While we haven't seen a slow down in property tax payments, we do know that coming up with a lump sum payment during economic downturns can be difficult, "states Tedder. "Not all taxpayers are aware of the options available to them and the pitfalls affecting them for non-payment."

The Tax Collector's Office encourages anyone seeking more information on property tax installment option, to go online to www.PolkTaxes.com or contact the Tax Collector's Office by telephone at (863) 534-4700.
