COMPLIANCE ORDERS SENT TO DELINQUENT BUSINESSES


Maximum Penalties Looming for Deliquent Businesses

BARTOW, Florida/ PR Free/ February 8, 2011

Those doing business in Polk and who haven't renewed your county local business tax receipt for 2010/2011 may find a Compliance Order in their mailbox.

The Tax Collector's Office is sending out the Compliance Orders in an effort to get businesses to renew their county local business tax receipts before the maximum penalty is applied.

Any businesses operating in Polk without a delinquent county local business tax receipt should return their Compliance Order with the specified payment on or before February 28.

Failure to renew or obtain a current business tax receipt will result in a 100% penalty (up to $250), plus collection costs, as well as a possible criminal violation.

Delinquent business that did not receive a Compliance Order should renew online at www.PolkTaxes.com or visit one of the Tax Collector's Branch Office locations.
