CEREMONY FOR OATH OF OFFICE


Polk's Constitutional Officers to be Sworn In Monday

BARTOW, Florida/PR Free/January 7, 2009

A swearing In ceremony will be held on Monday, January 12, 2009 for Polk County's Constitutional Officers. The event will be held at the Polk County Historical Museum, in the East Courtroom on the second floor historic courthouse.

Constitutional officers to take the oath of office include: Joe G. Tedder, Tax Collector; Marsha Faux, Property Appraiser; Richard Weiss, Clerk of Courts; Lori Edwards, Supervisor of Elections; Marion Moorman, Public Defender; Jerry Hill, States Attorney; and Grady Judd, Sheriff.

Constitutional officers are created by the Florida Constitution to provide state services at the local level. They are elected to four year terms. All of Polk's Constitutional officers are being returned to office.

The ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. and is followed by a public reception hosted by Community Southern Bank of Bartow in the West Courtroom.
